Vintage Kokeshi in Tsuchiyu-Kei style

Vintage Kokeshi dolls in Tsuchiyu-Kei style, handmade in Tsuchiyu Onsen in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. This style is characterized by a slender body and fine, colored lines. The heads can rotate, producing a distinctive squeaking and playful sound. Also, take a look at the cute, hand-painted faces of these two dolls; they sort of remind me of Bert and Ernie. 😉
The tall Kokeshi is made by artist Sato Sashima and the medium Kokeshi by artist Saito Hiromichi

They are both in good vintage condition, with some areas of fading due to age.
I estimate they date from around the 1970s.
