Vintage Furoshiki (traditional wrapping cloth) made of genuine chirimen silk. Chirimen silk is a soft textured silk made by twisting the threads as they are woven, giving it that special crepe texture. This Furoshiki features a traditional Japanese print of bamboo and Sakura cherry blossom. A vintage gem, beautiful for wrapping a special gift or wear it as a scarf AND reusable! It is in perfect vintage condition, unused. Dates from the 70s.

Each year on March 3 families in Japan celebrate Hina Matsuri, known as Girls’ or Dolls Festival.

Hina Matsuri is a celebration dedicated to girls, for good health and happiness.

On this day these Hina dolls are displayed in homes where girls live. Girls hold parties with special food, such as clam soup, multi-colored rice crackers and sakura-mochi and off course sweet sake. These displayed dolls represent the emperor, empress, court ladies, ministers, musicians and servants.

Vintage Hina dolls representing 5 musicians, part of a complete Hina Matsuri set of 15 dolls. These dolls are handmade in traditional Kimekomi technique. The bodies of Kimekomi dolls are made of ‘toso‘, a paulownia wood sawdust mixed with wheat starch paste, the dolls are artfully covered with colorful genuine silk fabrics with traditional Japanese symbols in woven golden accents. These dolls date from around the 70’s and are each in good vintage condition.

Add a timeless touch of Japan to your home with this exquisite vintage Hina doll. Handcrafted with delicate details, these dolls bring tradition and cultural beauty to your interior all year long. A perfect statement piece for collectors and Japan enthusiasts alike!

🖤🩵 SHINOBU – antique silk Haori with maple leaves pattern and stunning lining

Beautiful antique Haori (Kimono jacket) made of a deep black woven silk with an all-over pattern of maple leaves. In Japanese culture, the maple leaf motif symbolizes the beauty of the changing seasons and the fleetingness of time. The pattern is printed with a raised pigment, creating a subtle relief effect on the fabric. The blue leaves have a subtle shine, here and there some gold accents are added. The wild horse print on the silk lining adds a unique touch, making it a truly special antique find. The rounded, slightly shorter sleeves and the comfortable length make it not just elegant but also practical to wear. A rare and beautiful Haori for sure! It is in very good condition, no significant flaws. Shinobu is a Japanese genderneutral name, meaning ‘perseverance’ or ‘endurance’.
