Asami – soft silk Kimono jacket (Haori) in light pink with Shibori details

Another beautiful vintage find from Japan! This Haori (Kimono Jacket) is handmade of flowy silk in a light pink color. It has a woven all-over design of sakura flowers. The red shapes are created with Shibori technique, which is one of the oldest tie-dye techniques in Japan. Shibori artists use threads to isolate many small repeated points on the fabric; after dyeing these spots create traditional designs, a technique that is far more complicated and detailed than modern tie-dye. On the backside it has a handwoven family crest. The super soft silk lining is handpainted with a wonderful flowerpattern! This haori is in perfect condition. It comes with the thick handwoven silk Haori himo (short, braided silk cords) in white with red ends, which make it easy to close the Kimono jacket. You’ll love wearing it!
