Kokeshi with daisy print by Aoki Ryoka
Another vintage handmade Kokeshi doll by the multi-award winning master Aoki Ryoka (1931 – ). It is named ‘Daisy Princess’ or Hinagiku. Her Kimono with daisies print is hand-painted and she wears a red wooden bow on top of the head. The painting on the sleeves is a bit rougher than on the body. This version of Hinagiku is rare and I haven’t seen it before. This Kokeshi dates from around the 60’s and is in good vintage condition, there is slight discolourisation of the wood due to aging and sunlight.
