Small Kokeshi by Sato Suigai in green Kimono

Cute little Kokeshi by award-winning artisan Sato Suigai (1920 – ). It’s called Yumemiru koro, which means “When I dream”. She wears a bright green Kimono with carved flowers. Check out the detailed hand-painted face and the perfectly created hair with brush strokes. This vintage Kokeshi is handmade and dates from around the 1970s. It is in good vintage condition, there is slight discoloration of the wood on the back of the head due to aging and sunlight.
