Traditional Kokeshi set by Hidehiro Sato
Vintage Kokeshi set in Hijiori style handmade by Hidehiro Sato, born in 1951 as the eldest son of Fumio Sato, a woodworker in Togatta, Miyagi prefecture. Hidehiro started making Kokeshi in 1966 at the age of 15! Both dolls have a refined chrysanthemum pattern on the body and a characteristic friendly facial expression with upper and lower eyelids and Sato’s flower signature on the backside. The dolls aren’t created in the same year, since the hair have a different design. The smaller doll is made of cherry wood, a bit warmer of color. Both Kokeshi dolls are in good vintage condition.
