Vintage 1960s Daruma Kokeshi Doll

This vintage Daruma Kokeshi doll is a beautifully hand-carved representation of Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. A symbol of luck, perseverance, and protection, its stern gaze is believed to ward off evil and bring strength to those who seek it.
Crafted from dark wood, this piece showcases traditional Japanese artistry. A sticker on the base indicates it was originally sold at Minakami Onsen, a historic hot spring resort in northern Gunma Prefecture, Japan. Dating back to the 1960s, it remains in good vintage condition with only a few minor dings that enhance its age.
