Vintage silk Kimono doll with traditional straw hat

Vintage doll of a Japanese girl in Kimono wearing a traditional straw hat named Sugegasa, though this hat is made of thick paper. The doll is handmade in Kimekomi technique. The girl is dressed in a silk brocade kimono in a coral orange color, with a woven in design of grapes and leaves. The stick with the hat can be taken off. This doll is in perfect vintage condition. A beautiful vintage object from Japan for your interior, handmade and authentic.

The body of a Kimekomi doll is made of ‘toso‘, a paulownia wood sawdust mixed with wheat starch paste, after which it is artfully covered with various silk brocade fabrics.
