Hakata doll of a Japanese girl in red kimono. Hakata clay dolls are handmade from sturdy unglazed clay and slowly fired from low to high temperature (biscuit-fired), giving it that nice, matte surface. Hakata dolls are traditional dolls handmade and hand-painted in Fukuoka, Kyushu. This doll is brand new, I spotted this adorable little girl on my most recent buying trip to Japan and simply couldn’t resist bringing her home for my webshop. Isn’t she just adorable? 🥰
