A striking vintage men’s Haori (Kimono jacket), hand-sewn from luxurious Oshima Tsumugi silk in a dark blue shade. Oshima silk is a plain-woven, hand-spun silk known for its fine pattern created with pre-dyed threads. The result is a subtle sheen and a beautifully smooth texture. Dyed using traditional vegetable-based dyes and mineral-rich mud, this exquisite textile hails from the Amami Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan — a region renowned for its mastery of this craft. Inside, the silk lining reveals a scene of Mount Fuji framed by a serene, traditional Japanese landscape. With a lining this stunning, the Haori can also be stylishly worn inside out. A timeless piece, suitable for both men and women. In good vintage condition.
