Jubako – lacquerware 3-layered box with flowerdesign

Traditional vintage Japanese lacquerware Jūbako, handmade of lightweight wood. The 3-layer lacquered box is decorated on different sides with flowers and leaves. There are some details created with mother of pearl. All layers have a bright red lacquered interior, there’s a personal message written underneath the lid. This Jūbako will look very nice in your interior, to keep personal stuff. It dates from the 1980s, is in perfect vintage condition, it comes in it’s original box.
Jūbako are tiered boxes used in Japan to display food, often used to hold osechi (traditional Japanese New Year food) or bento (lunch).
