Kokeshi with camelia flower by Sumiya Koji

Handmade Kokeshi by Sumiya Koji in Gunma style. The body is painted in darkgreen with beautiful carved leaves and a bright red camelia flower on the front. This kokeshi most likely dates from Heisei year 12 which is written on the bottom, or someone gave it that particular year to ‘Mr. Hakata’ as a gift. It is in good condition.
