MASHIKO – Oshima Tsumugi silk Haori (Kimono jacket) – unisex
Vintage Haori (Kimono jacket) is hand-sewn from Oshima Tsumugi silk in a blue tone. Oshima Tsumugi silk is a handspun silk renowned for its fine pattern and subtle sheen.
The silk lining features a refined design of bamboo leaves and red-headed finches (Benimashiko), with delicate hand-painted details. Due to prolonged storage, some of these painted lines have softly bled on the silk (visible in the last photos), yet this piece remains striking. Overall, it is in good vintage condition.
Suitable for both men and women.
Men’s Haori and Kimono differ slightly from women’s styles, they’re plain colored on the outside with colorful artistic linings. The sleeves are fully attached to the body of the garment, unlike women’s Kimono sleeves are partly loose and swing gracefully.
