Soroban – vintage handmade abacus

Vintage handmade Soroban (abacus) from Japan. It has 21 bars each with six wooden beads: one individual bead has a value of five, called go-dama, and four beads each with a value of one, called ichi-dama. Also pay attention to the ingenious wood joint on the corners and the handwritten text on the back. Some small pieces of a few beads have broken off. This wooden Soroban dates from around the 1950s and is otherwise in good vintage state.
