Vintage Kakejiku – Flight to the sacred mountain by Yokoyama Taikan
This hanging scroll (Kakejiku) features Yokoyama Taikan’s celebrated 1953 work “Flight to the sacred mountain” (飛翔靈峰 Hishō Reihō), depicting snow-capped Mount Fuji with red-crowned cranes in a graceful flight. The scene symbolizes purity, peace and Taikan’s late artistic spirit. Yokoyama Taikan (1868 – 1958) was a master of modern Japanese painting.
The artwork is a high quality reproduction on fabric using advanced printing techniques, also used by leading art museums. It has a matte surface and is finished with hand-painted details. Mounted on the edges with Japanese damask silk fabric (Kinran). It has a sturdy wooden rod (Jikusaki) at the bottom to keep it hanging straight and to prevent it from swinging. This Kakejiku is in perfect vintage condition, it can easily be rolled up for storage.
