Vintage Yajiro-style Kokeshi set by master Seiji Takahashi
These two vintage Yajirō-style Kokeshi dolls were handcrafted in the early 1970s by master Seiji Takahashi (1911-1978), born in Shichikashuku Village, Miyagi Prefecture. Made from Mizuki wood and hand-painted with delicate Sakura flowers, they have the calm expressions and fine hairlines typical of Yajirō style. One is a bit taller with a slimmer waist, giving them just enough personality as a pair.
They’re in good vintage condition. The dolls can be purchased as a set or individually, perfect for collectors or anyone who loves traditional Japanese folk art.
