Beautiful antique Haori (Kimono jacket) made of a deep black woven silk with an all-over pattern of maple leaves. In Japanese culture, the maple leaf motif symbolizes the beauty of the changing seasons and the fleetingness of time. The pattern is printed with a raised pigment, creating a subtle relief effect on the fabric. The blue leaves have a subtle shine, here and there some gold accents are added. The wild horse print on the silk lining adds a unique touch, making it a truly special antique find. The rounded, slightly shorter sleeves and the comfortable length make it not just elegant but also practical to wear. A rare and beautiful Haori for sure! It is in very good condition, no significant flaws. Shinobu is a Japanese genderneutral name, meaning ‘perseverance’ or ‘endurance’.
