Vintage silk Nagajuban kimono with hand-painted landscape – unisex
This vintage men’s Nagajuban Kimono is hand-sewn from exceptionally soft silk in a light grey-blue tone, lined with light brown silk fabric, finished with a relatively new dark blue collar. The back features a traditional Japanese landscape, partly hand-painted and signed by the artist. Refined Shibori (tie-dye) details adorn the shoulders and lower panels.
Traditionally worn as an under-kimono, a Nagajuban is perfect as a dressing gown or as a stylish layer over modern outfits. The supple silk drapes beautifully and feels wonderful against the skin. The length can also be easily shortened if desired.
Suitable for both men and women.
Dating from around the 1960s. In good vintage condition, with only a few small age-related spots on the lining from long-term storage. These are barely noticeable and do not detract from its overall appearance.
Please note: The actual color is best represented in the outdoor photographs.

Men’s kimono differ slightly from the women’s styles: the sleeves are attached directly to the body, whereas women’s sleeves hang partially loose and move more freely. The shoulder width and overall proportions are also different.
