Vintage Kimekomi doll in silk purple Kimono
Charming vintage Kimekomi doll of a young woman dressed in a brocade-woven silk kimono in soft purple tones, decorated with colourful floral motifs and woven brocade details. She wears a soft peach under-kimono and a vibrant obi belt and has a serene expression. Dating from around the 1980s. In fairly good vintage condition, just a few small, faint stains that are hardly noticeable. Please refer to the photographs for details.
Kimekomi
The body of this Kimekomi doll is made of ‘toso‘, a paulownia wood sawdust mixed with wheat starch paste, after which it is artfully covered with various silk brocade fabrics, pressed into carved groove.
