CHAYA – vintage men’s silk Haori with traditional teahouse lining
Vintage men’s Haori (Kimono jacket) hand-sewn from flowing black silk with a subtle sheen. It’s a beautiful, lightweight silk, but it does crease quite easily. Something to keep in mind if you prefer fabrics that stay perfectly smooth. This Haori features traditional family crests (Kamon) on the chest, sleeves, and back. A classic detail of men’s formal kimono.
But the real surprise is on the inside. The silk lining depicts a traditional scene of a Japanese Chaya (teahouse) with visitors in Kimono.
I love this wonderfully detailed, almost storybook-like scene hidden inside. And with a lining like this, there’s really no reason to keep it hidden.Turn the Haori inside out and you have a completely different look.
In perfect vintage condition, with no imperfections.
Suitable for both men and women, it’s a beautiful statement layer over a simple modern outfit.
Men’s Haori and Kimono differ slightly from women’s styles. They are typically made in darker tones (such as black, brown, or blue) and often feature artistic linings. The sleeves are attached to the body, unlike women’s Kimono sleeves, which are more open and flowing. The main differences are in shoulder width and length.
