SHIORI – vintage silk Haori Kimono jacket in rose taupe – unworn – SOLD
This vintage Haori (Kimono jacket) is hand-sewn from flowy silk in a rose taupe shade. Due to cloudy winter days, it has been difficult to capture the exact color on camera; however, the last close-up image comes closest. The silk fabric features a all over pattern of swirling brush lines in a light pink hue, while the rayon lining is adorned with a cute design of leaves and blossoms.
This Haori came with the tailor’s original silk basting threads (Shitsuke) still in place, used to preserve shape during storage. Clearly an indication that it has never been worn, so therefore in perfect condition, dating from around 1960s. A classic yet modern piece to wear. Shiori is a Japanese feminine name meaning “endure” or “overcome”.
