Yachiyo – stunning gray beige silk Haori
This vintage Haori (Kimono jacket) is handmade in Japan from a supple light gray beige (greige) silk, beautifully decorated with various chrysanthemum flowers. Some flowers are woven into the silk, others are printed in white and pink or embroidered with gold threads. A true pleasure to wear and to be seen in. In Japan, the chrysanthemum (Kiku) represents longevity, rejuvenation and nobility. It is also the symbol of autumn, the harvest as well as the emblem of the imperial family. This Haori has a silk lining and cute silk Himo cords in soft pink. It is vintage and in good condition. There are a few small spots, but barely visible. Yachiyo, a Japanese girl’s name meaning ‘eternity, thousands of years’.
